I am Diego Ocaña, an architect, Interior and Lighting Designer. For more than thirty years, I have worked in architecture and lighting across projects of different scales, coordinating clients, designers, engineers, manufacturers and contractors in international settings.
Since 2019, a significant part of my professional activity has been based in Saudi Arabia, including Royal residences, major urban and infrastructure projects in Riyadh. This experience has given me a close understanding of Saudi professional culture and of the importance placed on trust, discretion, personal relationships and keeping one’s word.
The idea began with a real situation: helping a Saudi contact search for a home in Madrid. It quickly became clear that finding the right property from another country requires far more than searching online portals. It requires someone who understands the buyer, visits and rejects unsuitable options, asks difficult questions, coordinates professionals and remains available after completion.
I decided to combine my knowledge of Spain, my architectural background and my experience in Saudi Arabia to offer a more personal and independent form of property representation.
A home is not merely a location, floor area and price. It is also orientation, proportion, daylight, privacy, circulation, construction, maintenance and capacity for change. My training helps me read these qualities during early viewings and distinguish a persuasive presentation from a home that genuinely suits the buyer.
When an issue exceeds a preliminary review, I involve the appropriate specialists. The value lies not in claiming to do everything, but in knowing what should be checked, by whom and at what stage.
Represent the buyer’s interests clearly.
Explain what may make a property unsuitable, not only what makes it attractive.
Protect the confidentiality of clients and transactions.
Coordinate without taking over another professional’s responsibility.
Document important decisions.
Remain useful after key handover.
I work from Madrid and coordinate collaborators wherever a specific mandate takes us. Lawyers, tax advisers, local agents, architects, surveyors, installers and suppliers retain their professional independence, while the client has one adviser who understands the transaction as a whole.
